A wine bar in Treviso? Antica Osteria “Al Botegon”, since 1890
Antica Osteria “Al Botegon” is an integral part of the historic town of Treviso. It has been serving red wine since 1890, when in the heart of the cattle market foreign traders were welcomed after crossing the walls.
After the war the place was known to be the only one in town to serve the sweet wines “Vin Santo” and “Marsala” directly from the barrels, which are still perfectly intact and visible behind the current counter. The bar is located in the shadow of the sixteenth-century “Porta San Tomaso”, which was recently restored giving the area a fascinating atmosphere.
